Hiring Youth Shift Supervisors to join our behavioral treatment team at Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center in Canon City, Colorado. Here, you will be part of a team of dedicated and passionate individuals that are committed to inspiring positive change in the lives of at-risk adolescents.

Youth Shift Supervisor:

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Youth Development Workers' daily activities, monitoring program standards to ensure safety and the delivery of comprehensive program services for youth.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the implementation of activities which support the daily schedule on one or more units at the facility.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures, program policy and procedures, and the client interventions process are implemented appropriately.
  • Assists in managing the Youth Development Team Leaders.
  • Interacts with and supervises clients during daily activities in a manner that ensures their safety and security.
  • Provides effective facility security including conducting headcounts, room checks, and observing client movement.
  • Observes client behavior and intervenes appropriately.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of client intervention skills and Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques; monitors client interventions and provides guidance to other employees as necessary.
  • Facilitates and documents various groups or meetings; monitors the documentation process to ensure all services are documented as necessary each shift. 
  • Supports and promotes the Sanctuary Model and its Commitments

Youth Shift Supervisor Hiring Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and minimum two (2) years related experience; Associates degree or Bachelors’ degree preferred.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Driver's License
  • Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
  • Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks; including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
