Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $20-$28/hr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description:

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park has a unique opportunity for a Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant operator holding a Colorado Water D License or above. A Colorado B License is desired for ORC status. The park operates its own water and wastewater system with intake from the Arkansas River, source water. The water plant is a .05 mgd conventional filtration system and the wastewater plant is an extended aeration .018 mgd package plant.

  • Position requires operation and knowledge of computers, related-software programs, HMIs, SCADAs, pumps, constant monitoring of equipment,
  • Knowledge of regulations, permitting, and recordkeeping required by the State of Colorado.
  • Requires knowledge of calibration of equipment and collection of test samples.
  • Successful candidate will have a working knowledge of both plant operations to cover when necessary.
  • Will be expected to keep licensing current.
  • This is a 7-day operation and operator will work a 40-hour week including holidays, weekends, or emergencies.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, walking, climbing.
  • Must have drivers license with good record
  • A background check may be conducted upon conditional offer of employment
  • Drug screen will be performed.

This is a fulltime position with medical, dental, vision, LTD and Life policies, sick time and PTO.

Hourly Wage depending on License Status and Level of Experience: $20 to $28. Will negotiate higher wage for ORC Status with A-B licensing.
