Job Description:
Sangre de Cristo Community Care is seeking a compassionate, organized, and self-motivated Part Time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to join our dedicated Canon City team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that hospice patients and their families receive support from well-trained, committed volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, supports, and places volunteers in roles that align with both patient needs and volunteer strengths.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and place hospice volunteers in appropriate assignments.
- Plan and lead volunteer training sessions to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including volunteer files, hours, and assignments.
- Match volunteers with patients and families based on needs, availability, and compatibility.
- Provide ongoing support, recognition, and education for volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules in collaboration with clinical teams.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning as appropriate.
- Monitor volunteer satisfaction and performance through regular check-ins and evaluations.
- Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition initiatives.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, hospice care, or human services preferred.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required.
