Wage: $21-$26/hr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

APPLICANTS MUST LIVE IN COLORADO OR BE IN THE PROCESS OF RELOCATING TO COLORADO. THE POSITION IS FOR LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT.

A&S Construction is looking for experienced asphalt operators that have experience operating various types of equipment including but not limited to a roller and screed. A&S Construction is looking for an individual that is self-motivated and maintains a safe working environment.

Responsibilities 

• Operate roller appropriately to compact asphalt to desired thickness and ensure smoothness. 
• Utilize pedals, levers, and steering wheel to maintain control of the paver 
• Operate screed machines to control, spread, and level asphalt material on surfaces being paved. 
• Conduct daily pre and post checks
• Perform daily maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as appropriate 
• Relevant paving procedures 
• Ability to communicate and problem solve

Qualifications 

• Highway paving experience preferred 
• Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noise 
• High School diploma or equivalent required 
• Valid driver’s license 
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background test 
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must be willing to travel around the state of Colorado
