3 Rocks Engineering and Surveying is a leading firm in the field of land surveying and engineering, committed to delivering high-quality services to our clients. Our team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and professional growth. We are currently seeking a creative, skilled, and experienced Survey Drafter to join our dynamic team. Preferably, the successful applicant will have survey specific drafting experience, but we are willing to consider someone with Civil 3D experience that wants to evolve into the role.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Survey Drafter with 3 Rocks Engineering and Surveying, you will play a key role in crafting precise, detailed, and meticulous drawings and plats for land surveying projects utilizing cutting-edge Civil 3D software. Your responsibilities extend from the inception to the completion of survey project deliverables, leveraging collected field data, meticulous field notes, and comprehensive field photos. While occasional overtime opportunities exist, they are neither required nor anticipated. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate closely with the Professional Land Surveyor and survey field staff to interpret project requirements.
  • Utilize Civil 3D software, Microsoft Excel, and PDF software to produce accurate survey drawings, plats, and official survey documents.
  • Incorporate field data, survey notes, and project specifications into drafting work.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project guidelines.
  • Revise and update drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope.
  • Maintain organized documentation for each project, adhering to company standards.
  • Research land records and monument records for each project.
  • Request utility locates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a CAD Drafter in the field of land surveying.
  • Proficiency using industry-standard Civil 3D and Microsoft programs (Excel and Word).
  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant Land Surveying industry standards and regulations or the desire to learn. ​

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Relevant certifications and/or education in CAD (preferred)
  • CST Technician (preferred)
  • Land Survey Intern (LSI) (preferred) ​
