Job Description:
The SMMS Substitute Teacher is hired by and accountable to the SMMS Co-School Directors. The position is part-time and on site.

Required Experience
1+ years of substitute teaching experience
Background check required
Primary Responsibilities
Assisting lead teacher in preparing the learning environment for developmental level being served in accordance with the Montessori educational method.
Assisting lead teacher in establishing rules and behavioral expectations.
Reinforcing and modeling classroom rules and expectations.
Supervising children in the classroom and play yard.
Maintaining a healthy, clean, and safe environment for the children in your care.
Observing and responding to children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts that may occur while they are at the school.
Following the school's policies and professional practices.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or lead teacher.
Compensation
This is a part-time position. Hourly pay range is $18-20 per hour on an as needed basis with a minimum four-hour shift each time. No benefits are offered for this position.
