Job Description

SGM is seeking a full-time experienced (4-8+ years) Structural Engineer for one of our Colorado offices. Overall responsibilities will include providing structural engineering technical leadership and project management for building projects, mentoring and supervising junior engineers, fostering strong client relationships, and developing new business. Preferred technical skills/experience include the design of commercial and residential structures; experience with other civil structures such as retaining walls, vaults, and pump stations is a plus but is not required; understanding of permitting and regulations related to structural projects; building inspection experience; and preparation of drawings, specifications, and contract documents. The successful candidate is expected to be a team player and have strong communication skills. This candidate will also have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado.

Depending on experience level, the anticipated salary range for this position may be as follows: Engineer II $64,800 – $79,600 or Engineer III $74,500 – $98,800 per year

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of BS degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering with a Structural focus – Master’s degree preferred
  • Colorado PE license or ability to transfer a license from another State quickly
  • 4-8+ years of relevant experience
  • Consulting engineering experience
  • Residential and commercial structures design experience
  • Project management experience, including coordination of multiple disciplines and sub-consultants
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Experience with preparing project scope, schedule, and budget for proposal and fee estimate efforts
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
