Position Summary:

As we build our infrastructure and scale our organization to meet the demands of our business, the Sr. Director of Legal Operations serves as a key member of our dynamic and innovative Legal Department and Global Ethics and Compliance Program. They design, implement, and leverage process improvements and new technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our Legal Department and Global Ethics and Compliance Program. The Sr. Director supports knowledge management, department communications, engagement and management of certain third-party service providers, legal project management, general office administration, data analysis and incorporation into the department’s services, and management of the department’s budget process. They report directly to the Chief Legal Officer but support the entire department and take direction from all members of the senior Legal leadership team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Chief Legal Officer to manage our department's budget process, forecasting, and spending analytics;
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with business finance partners.
  • Engage and manage certain third-party service providers, such as law firms, technology vendors, and consultants, including negotiating contracts, tracking performance, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring quality and compliance with billing arrangements.
  • Analyze data from various sources and incorporate it into our department’s services to provide insights, metrics, dashboards, and reports.
  • Design, implement, and leverage process improvements and new technology to optimize the delivery of legal services;
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the legal technology field.
  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Develop and implement a technology roadmap for our department that aligns with our company’s enterprise systems and strategic goals.
  • Provide training and support to the legal team on various legal technology tools.
  • Manage our department’s knowledge management system, including updating, and organizing legal templates, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and execute internal and external department communications, such as newsletters, office hours, webinars, training, surveys, and feedback sessions.
  • Support department project management by defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and risks for various legal initiatives.
  • Handle general office administration tasks for our department, such as scheduling meetings, booking travel, ordering supplies, preparing expense reports, and maintaining records.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees in our department.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience working in legal operations for comparable product-led technology companies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and Smartsheet.
  • Familiarity with AI tools including Microsoft Co-Pilot.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, PowerBI, Workboard, Nintex Promapp, Confluence, Salesforce, LinkSquares, DocuSign CLM, and Ironclad is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with P&L management.
  • Experience with the application of Agile principles to legal operations.
  • Knowledge of the legal technology landscape and experience with enterprise systems that interact with legal technology.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept in management information systems and business processes.
  • A team player who is results-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong customer service attitude who views department staff as customers.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) is beneficial.

Compensation: Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $ 170,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
