Conditions of employment: Selected applicant must verify past experience and hold a current Colorado teaching certificate, For Spanish/World Languages K-12.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as team member under the direction of the school principal. The teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students in beginning and intermediate Spanish classes. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that motivates each pupil to develop competencies, knowledge and skills in oral comprehending, speaking and reading Spanish and developing a deeper cultural understanding of Spanish and Spanish speaking countries. This position requires collaboration with team mates to develop and implement daily lesson plans based on Colorado state standards. The teacher will also instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students varying needs. The position requires planning and conducting activities for a balanced program of instruction for student’s diverse backgrounds and abilities. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. The teacher must be able to work collaboratively with fellow teachers. Teacher is expected to participate in district development of curriculum and instruction.

Teaches skills and knowledge in foreign language instruction to secondary pupils, utilizing appropriate learning activities. Modern foreign language teachers (French, German, and Spanish) teach oral comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing..
Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy of the district.
Provides learning experiences which develop the basic communication skills, utilizing current technology.
Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
Develops pupil understanding and appreciation of culture of countries where Spanish is spoken.
They also teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques and Social Emotional Learning
Preferred experience/knowledge/ability:
Successful teaching experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with multiple endorsements
Experience using technology to support instruction
