Job Description

Supervises and provides leadership for a team of assigned caseworkers, case aides, and clerical employees within the Family and Adult Services Unit with responsibility for providing a variety of human services programs. Assigns and reviews work, ensures work is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and directs and instructs employees in work processes. Conducts performance evaluations, motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; participates in the hiring and disciplinary processes. Participates in on-call rotation in a supervisory role. This position specifically provides direct supervision and leadership for specific Child Welfare positions and programs including: Family Search and Engagement, Foster/Kinship services, Facilitators, Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), case aide, and clerical employees. Serves as the ICPC liaison for the county.

Qualifications:

Level I – Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field. Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development. Three years full time, professional, paid journey level casework experience obtained after the degree.

Level II – Minimum of one-year full time, professional, paid experience obtained in a social services agency as a Social Services Supervisor I.

Additional Requirements:

  • A valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, liability insurance.
  • Must be physically present within the geographical boundaries of Fremont County when performing on-call duties.
  • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check.
