Job Type: Full time, Salaried

Wage: $51,567.18 – $91,129.19/yr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description:

This position provides intake and/or ongoing services to families where child abuse, child neglect, or youth in conflict behaviors is present in order to resolve these circumstances.  Services may include performing child abuse investigations, removing the involved child(ren) until the dangerous conditions are corrected, connecting the family to essential services, and arranging for long term or permanent placement when living in the home continues to be unsafe.   

Qualifications:

Level I: Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field.  Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.

Level II: Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field.  Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.  Minimum of one year of full-time professional caseworker experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency

Substitutions: A master’s degree in social work or human behavioral sciences field may substitute for the required work experience.   A BSW and Field Placement with any Colorado Department of Human Services will substitute for one year full time casework experience.

Level III: Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field.  Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.  Minimum of two years of progressively responsible, full-time, professional case worker experience, appropriate to the assignment, acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency.

Substitutions: A master’s degree in social work or human behavioral sciences field may substitute for one year of the required work experience, one year of work experience must be received after the master’s degree.

Additional Requirements:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Proof of valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition and liability insurance must be on file at all times.
