Position Type: Full-time, 162 days per year

Location: Lincoln School of Science and Technology

Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the Instructional Support Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education $14.73-$15.61 per hour. This position will also receive a $2,000 stipend as a center-based position.

Purpose of the Job:

Operates under general guidelines provided by a supervising teacher under the direction of the site administrator(s), and provides instructional, supervisory general and/or special educational assistance to students and teachers. For Special Education implements specialized programming and/or instructional support both in and outside of the general education classroom, supervised by the special education teacher for the purpose of student growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Proficiency on a district-administered assessment or possess an AA preference degree or the equivalency of two years of undergraduate college classes and may be required

Experience: Effective Communication and Social Skills

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Integrity, trust and work ethic to be able to work with little supervision.
  • Competent understanding of technology to perform the job.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical
  • Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs)
  • Physical strength and coordination to meet the educational, physical and emotional needs of students assigned.
  • Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.

POSITION DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Demonstrate reliability in all work situations
  • Present a professional appearance personally and in the work area
  • Promote and maintain positive working relationships with peers, students, and the public
  • Be knowledgeable about the job
  • Always strive to stay on task and produce high quality work
  • Under the direction of the supervising teacher, implement schedules and routines, communicate with parents, work 1-to-1, in small groups or in full classroom settings, with students, support school-wide and classroom management plans
  • Meet the educational, physical and emotional needs of students assigned
  • Must be Mandt trained or be willing to be trained as necessitated by the District Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data.
  • May include inside or outside supervision of students, at times during inclement weather
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology
  • May be required to obtain substitute license to support in subbing for certified teachers when needed May be required to transport students in district vehicle
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Special Education Duties;

  • Maintain confidentiality with special education student information.
  • Carries out instructional programs and lessons in various learning environments as directed by the teacher and/or special education teacher per the student(s) Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Work with students in a one-on-one or small group environment to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher and/or special education teacher
  • May be required to maneuver and secure wheelchairs while using appropriate procedures to transfer/lift students to and from wheelchairs.
  • May be required to assist student(s) with medical tasks such as: tube feeding, catheterization, toileting, diapering, suctioning, and may involve exposure to bodily fluids.
  • May be required to performs tasks for student(s) such as meal preparation, feeding, and lunch clean-up which involves implementing communication, oral motor, sensory integration, and physical IEP goals
  • Other duties as assigned
