Job Type: Hourly

Wage: $34-$38/hr. 

Location: Penrose, CO.

Position Overview

This position requires the ability to safely carry out general shop duties as directed by the Equipment Manager. To be aware of, and follow, shop and company safety procedures as well as work as part of the shop team. 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Enter Time for mechanics in payroll system
  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and other shop staff.
  • Able to deal effectively and efficiently with queries and correspondence.
  • Ensure accuracy in all work requests, work orders and PM schedules
  • Assist in other duties as reasonably requested by Equipment Manager
  • Must be flexible in start and stop times as needed during the busy season
  • Schedule and coordinate winter maintenance of equipment.
  • Preorders of parts, work orders, and schedule for mechanics.
  • Perform weekly safety meeting, LSR monthly meeting, and daily safety huddles
  • Document Inventory and order fuel and gasoline
  • Monthly safety checks in all shops.
  • Ladders, fuel farm, air compressors and fall harness inspection.

Education/Experience

  • Medical Card needed
  • Class A CDL preferred not required.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Previous experience within the construction industry is preferred.

Work Requirements

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, CMMS, infield, Cummins InSite and CAT sis 2.0

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to write, read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small groups situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written, or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have a strong working knowledge of database software.
  • Excellent customer service.
