Summary: The Royal Gorge Route Railroad is seeking a joyful, energetic, and engaging Santa Claus impersonator to bring the magic of Christmas to life aboard our Santa Express Train. As the centerpiece of this beloved holiday experience, you’ll delight guests of all ages through authentic interactions, photo opportunities, and heartwarming moments that make every ride unforgettable.

Essential Functions

·         Portray Santa Claus in a warm, genuine, and consistent manner throughout each train experience.

·         Engage passengers, especially children, with enthusiasm, humor, and kindness.

·         Pose for photos, greet families, and hand out small gifts (provided by the railroad).

·         Collaborate with event hosts, servers, and onboard staff to maintain smooth guest flow and magical atmosphere.

·         Remain in character at all times while maintaining professionalism and patience in a busy environment.

·         Assist with setup, cleanup, and costume care as needed.

·         Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Education/Minimum Requirements

·         Previous experience as Santa Claus, performer, or entertainer preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests of all ages.

·         Friendly, dependable, and comfortable working in costume for extended periods.

·         Must embody the joyful and welcoming spirit of the holiday season.

·         Ability to adapt to changing schedules, guest volumes, and onboard conditions.

·         Authentic or realistic Santa appearance (beard, build, or willingness to wear quality costume provided).

·         Strong improvisation skills to engage with children and families naturally.

·         Team-oriented attitude with a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences.

Working Conditions/Essential Job Functions

·         Seasonal position, Santa Express occurs from the middle of November until the end of December

·         Shifts will include weekends, weekdays and extended hours on peak days. The train runs on Thanksgiving and Christmas. 

·         Position will spend 75% of the job walking on board the train and engaging with guests

·         Position will experience some exposure to outdoor elements
