Location: Salida, CO.

Job Description:

HRRMC is seeking a RN for our Emergency Department to work full time night shift. This position is full-time (36 hrs/wk). This position is eligible for an evening and shift differential and will include weekends.

HRRMC has mandatory influenza and COVID vaccine policies. We strongly encourage all employees to be vaccinated, but we will accept requests for vaccine exemptions A Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department is able to independently assess and evaluate the health status of all presenting patients with non-urgent, urgent, and emergent status utilizing objective and subjective data and identifying health care problems The RN must maintain safe and effective care throughout the episode of care through the institution of standard procedures that stabilize each patient's condition or through the prevention of serious complications in emergency situations. Each intervention is evaluated and documented to determine the outcome of care and if additional interventions are required to achieve optimal health outcomes. The RN acts as a patient advocate. The scope of emergency nursing practice involves the assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, and evaluation of human responses to perceived, actual or potential, sudden or urgent, physical or psychosocial problems that are primarily episodic or acute, and which occur in a variety of settings. These may require minimal care to life-support measures; patient, family, and significant other education; appropriate referral and discharge planning; and knowledge of legal implications. Emergency patients are people of all ages with diagnosed or undiagnosed problems of varying complexity. The practice of emergency nursing also includes the delivery of compassionate, competent care to consumers through education, research and consultation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Interacts positively with new recruits presenting the organization in a positive manner.

2. Triages all patients and determines the appropriate level of care.

3. Ability to manage multiple priorities.

4. Monitors patients and intervenes appropriately, utilizing the nursing process.

5. Directly provides patient care while delegating to unlicensed personnel appropriate tasks.

6. Accepts and documents patient care supervision on appropriate medical records, demonstrating competence in electronic health record (CPSI and T-system).

7. Coordinates services of other departments providing care to ED patients.

8. Provides leadership and assistance to staff in other nursing units during emergencies.

9. Demonstrates clinical competence in emergent patient care.

10. Performs clerical duties as necessary to collect patient data, to maintain accurate medical records and to accurately complete patient charges.

11. Maintains a calm and safe environment for patients and employees.

12. Accepts call on a rotational basis.

13. Requisitions supplies and medications according to par levels as needed.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of one year in acute care experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must maintain current, active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
  • Must maintain current CPR certification.
  • Must maintain current ACLS certification.
  • Must maintain current TNCC certification.
  • Must maintain current ENPC or PALS certification.
  • NRP certification recommended.
