Job Description

Job Type: Seasonal, Hourly

Wage: $17-$18/hr.

Location: Mesa, CO.

Job Description:

The Rental / Retail Cashier answers questions about merchandise, assists with selections, accepts payment, final step of service in the Rental process and handle money. 

 Primary Responsibilities/Duties

  • Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits. 
  • Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
  • Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Answer customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise. 
  • Answer general questions about product availability, store policies, purchasing procedures and pricing or discounts. 
  • Resolve customer complaints. 
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. 
  • Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.
  • Set up window displays
  • Stock and arrange merchandise on counters, racks, or tables to promote sales.
  • Stamp, mark, or tag price on merchandise.
  • Inventory of stock
  • Keep the sales floor clean and orderly
  • Honest, friendly, and enthusiastic customer service skills
  • Safety focus in all aspects of job
  • Answer customers' questions and provide information about Powderhorn. 
  • Adapt easily to change in the workplace
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well with the public.
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Assists with rental returns 

Core Skills

  • Friendly and professional in all aspects of customer service
  • Cash handling
  • Bike experience is helpful, though not required
  • Strong customer service skills are required

Computer Skills

  • POS Software (training provided)
  • Basic computer skills

Certifications/Licenses/Training

  • Axess Software
  • Seasonal Orientation
  • All Safety Training related to position, including company-wide safety process and procedures

Work Environment     

This position is based indoors. Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
