Job Description

The Server for Fremont Provisions will join a team of dreamers and doers committed to rural renewal through business and economic development. This skilled person will work with the executive chef and manager as part of a larger food preparation and delivery team. The Server works in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment and is tasked with providing excellent customer service from entry to exit. Servers will be responsible for taking orders from and serving food and beverage to customers.

We are looking for a Server who will be responsible for taking orders from and serving food to customers. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff.

Housed in a historic storefront built in 1903, Fremont Provisions is Cañon City’s premiere locally-sourced scratch kitchen eatery, known for the intentionally selected products and unique menu options. Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Dependability– a food service employer is only as successful as the cooks and Server it employs; the Server is expected to be reliable, on time for work, and consistent with the work they do
  • Physical stamina – the Server work on their feet for the duration of their shifts, around scheduled breaks, in high traffic areas, and a requirement to multi-task
  • Customer service – working in all areas of the restaurant and often in the food delivery space, including bars, seating areas, buffet tables, and dining rooms, the Server inevitably interact with customers, willingly listening to and assisting customers with their requests, even when they fall outside the Server’s normal duties. Pleasant, polite manner, and a neat and clean appearance.
  • Team player – the Server takes direction from the kitchen supervisors and facility managers and is willing to assist other team members to get their jobs done.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
  • Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
  • Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
  • Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
  • Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
  • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Collect payments from tables.
  • Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
  • Help food preparation staff when necessary.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand on on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. 

  • Must agree to background check.

What you would be doing at Fremont Provisions:

  • Show up ready to work, clean and well groomed and wearing the appropriate attire
  • Clock in and out on time without delays and within regulation
  • Focus on positive and friendly guest interactions
  • Guests are to be recognized and thanked for their patronage as they leave
  • Once guests are seated in your section, you will be expected to greet them promptly and professionally.
  • Proficient in all manners of service per training
  • Dining and service areas at to be kept clean at all times
  • Memorize the table and seating chart and use it to efficiently deliver food and beverages without "auctioning" at the table
  • Once a party has vacated their seats, be ready to clear and reset their table promptly
  • Make an effort to communicate frequently with management throughout service
  • Be knowledgeable about Fremont Provisions. This includes aspects of our philosophy, product sourcing hours of operation, and any food or drink specials.
  • Be aware of any special events or ticketed dinners and convey this information to guests in a polite and professional manner.
  • Complete additional job duties efficiently including clearing tables and completing side work tasks as directed by management. (You will be provided with a detailed list of tasks)
  • Maintain a clean work environment, free from any clutter or personal belongings, including cell phones.
  • Set a positive example by always embody the Unbridled brand and culture, including: character, change, credibility, and community.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

License/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (Preferred)
  • TIPS (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • Driver's License (Preferred)
