Job Type: Full time, Part time, Hourly

Wage: $14/hr. 

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description

Provide outstanding retail customer service to guests by asking questions, listening to their requests, and determining their needs to help them make their purchasing decision. Ensure guests feel welcome and valued at all times.

Essential Functions

  • Greet and acknowledge guests, maintaining a welcoming environment.
  • Proactively offer assistance to guests.
  • Exert patience with guests during every transaction.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of the train and surrounding geographical area.
  • Use proper phone etiquette when speaking to our guests.
  • Accountable for accurate financial transactions and reconciliations
  • Beginning and end of day cash drawers, counting money, balance cash drawers, bank deposits, and necessary paperwork
  • Accurately compute sales charges, process cash and credit transactions, and refunds (when applicable)
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Maintain understanding and undated knowledge of rates, policies, and special passes.
  • Use suggestive selling skills when working with guests.
  • Be professional, friendly and courteous at all times.
  • Responsible for the overall appearance of the reservations workspace and the ticket office.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Education/Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or actively pursuing an education
  • Prior experience in sales, reservations and or secretary position preferred

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience working with the internet and computer applications.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes ability to assess customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Skills/Aptitudes

  • Ability to perform basic math skills such as adding and subtracting, performing cash transactions.
  • Ability to read/speak/write the English language and communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to take direction and work under moderate supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work quickly, calmly, and effectively under pressure.
  • Active listening skills: having the ability to give full attention to what others are communicating, taking time to understand, asking questions when appropriate and not interrupting.
  • Ability to problem-solve using critical thinking, be self-motivated, and organized.
  • Conflict Resolution, ability to deal with unpleasant or angry customers.

Working Conditions/Essential Job Functions

  • This position will spend 95% of the time standing/walking and 5% of the time sitting when working in tickets and will spend 95% of the time sitting and 5% of the time standing/walking when working reservations.
  • Position requires ability to reach overhead, bend, twist, make repetitive motions, use hands to hold and carry items, kneel, reach, push and pull.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Direct contact with managers, and co-workers.
  • Variable customer traffic depending on train departures.
  • Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, snow, rain and water.
