Education:
High School Diploma required. Graduate of an approved Sonography school required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience of Ultrasound experience. Preferred 3 years experience. Licenses/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Sonographer required. Current CPR/BLS required, ACLS within six months of hire.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Prepares for examinations by checking equipment and inventorying and restocking supplies, reviewing patient schedules, reading physician orders for specific examinations, setting up recording equipment, entering patient information into system.
· Obtains quality images by positioning and re-positioning transducer, monitoring display screen, listening to signals, adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus, detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities, recording images.
· Records examination information by printing graphics and data.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
· Possesses and demonstrates knowledge and skill in areas of diagnostic service in all general sonography.

Continuous movement throughout the hospital and Continuous standing
Intermittent bending, kneeling, and squatting
Ability to lift up to 30% of your body weight
Ability to read and understand English

Ability to interact with patients, families and staff in a professional manner in stressful situations.
Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
