Job: Radiology Tech- Ultrasound

Assume direct patient care responsibilities as assigned by the radiologist or department director, ensure patient safety, perform full range of general ultrasound exams, including venous doppler and arterial. Obtain and relay pertinent clinical information to the nurse/doctor, manages the workflow of the department to ensure timely completion of all work, ability to operate PACS and EMR, maintain an active continuing education program, conduct business as a health care professional, and ability to deliver age appropriate care.

Education:

High School Diploma required. Graduate of an approved Sonography school required.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience of Ultrasound experience. Preferred 3 years experience. Licenses/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Sonographer required. Current CPR/BLS required, ACLS within six months of hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Prepares for examinations by checking equipment and inventorying and restocking supplies, reviewing patient schedules, reading physician orders for specific examinations, setting up recording equipment, entering patient information into system.

· Obtains quality images by positioning and re-positioning transducer, monitoring display screen, listening to signals, adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus, detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities, recording images.

· Records examination information by printing graphics and data.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.

· Possesses and demonstrates knowledge and skill in areas of diagnostic service in all general sonography.

Continuous movement throughout the hospital and Continuous standing

Intermittent bending, kneeling, and squatting

Ability to lift up to 30% of your body weight
