ABOUT THE ROLE
Support and maintain the plant safety program through day-to-day safety contacts with employees and department safety meetings, ensure assigned work areas are safe and safety requirements are observed.


 
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
•    Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. 
•    Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE. 
•    Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment 
•    Operation of mobile equipment required to mine rock (For example: Rock drills, wheel loaders, bulldozer, haul trucks and water trucks, motor grader, fuel tanker, hydraulic rock breaker) 
•    Perform mechanical maintenance checkouts, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and do minor preventative maintenance on mobile equipment 
•    Monitor and react to quality issues (For example: sample drill holes, monitor quality feedback information & adjust mining pattern as necessary) 
•    Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities 
•    Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education:  High School diploma/GED Required Experience
Required Work Experience:  1 year of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment
Required Technical Skills:  Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Travel Requirements:  Local travel throughout n/a.
 
Additional Requirements: 
•    Position will operate on a two shift basis and incumbents will predominantly work these two shifts 
•    Ideal candidates would have a high mechanical aptitude and experience operating mobile equipment 
•    Ability to work in a team based environment
•    Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
