The intern hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of marketing and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge.

The Product Development Intern must be a highly motivated, creative individual with an eye for detail to help the team achieve the department’s initiatives. The candidate will work closely with the Sr. and Jr. Designers under the guidance of the Product manager. Tasks will vary based on the needs of the department. The right candidate will be very flexible and open to learning new skills.

Essential Functions

  • Support the Product Development team in the development of best-in-class model rockets, ensuring the best in safety and quality.
  • Exposure to various project design process steps as performed by a cross-functional team of experience and innovativeness
  • Understand the full process of product development start to finish
  • Learn about best practices in product development and apply them to assignments
  • Understand the data storage guidelines and help to streamline them to maintain data integrity and accessibility
  • Use of Microsoft applications, CAD/SolidWorks
  • Strives for the highest quality across assigned tasks
  • Gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a fast-paced creative atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve
  • Meet weekly to provide status updates on open projects
  • Maintain the departmental KPIs for the final score card
  • Assist with the restructuring of R&D electronic filing system = Work with Product Manager
  • Develop 1 sophisticated product = Work with Sr. Designer
  • Develop 1 fast track product = Work with Jr. Designer
  • On time delivery of requested information/tasks = 92%

Competencies and Required Education

Applicants should be majoring in relevant fields such as, Project Management Systems, Computer Science or some form of Engineering discipline. Applicants should also possess a strong knowledge of 3D software and Microsoft applications.

The candidate should have the ability to sketch products and spec out Bills of Materials. The desired candidate must be a motivated, self-starter, with excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a sense of urgency. Effective communication skills are required.

  • Applicants with at least a 3.0 GPA Recent Graduates with at least a 3.0 GPA while in college Candidates finishing their Associate degree with at least a 3.0 GPA would be considered

Location: Penrose, Colorado, USA (near Colorado Springs)

Housing will be provided for the duration of the internship for non-local hires
