Job Description:

Chaffee County, Colorado seeks a full-time Principal Planner for Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy (ENRE) within the Chaffee County Planning Zoning Department (Planning Department). As an ENRE Planner with Chaffee County, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with considerable opportunity to showcase your skills across a range of prospective environmental, natural resources, and energy planning disciplines. You will manage or direct sections or projects within the Planning Zoning Department, review development applications, and utilize your particular expertise or specialization(s) as part of the P&Z team. This is a complex position that focuses primarily on Chaffee County’s environment, natural resources, and energy needs. The scope of this position may combine elements of current, long-range, comprehensive, land use, rural, water, natural resources, agricultural, transportation, regional, and community development planning, as well as grant writing, GIS mapping, reporting and presentations, and special projects.

This position will require the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain strong organization, and address recurring and non-recurring assignments. Annual salary range is $75,000 - $88,000 ($36.06 - $42.31 per hour) DOQ; benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement plan, disability, paid leave time and holidays. Work week is 40 hours per week Monday – Thursday, 7AM – 6:00PM with 1 hour for lunch
