Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Salaried

Wage: $225,000-$275,000/yr. 

Location: Leadville, CO.

Job Description:

Primary Care/Family Physicians are responsible for comprehensive patient care, from preventative and health maintenance to social and behavioral needs, and provide necessary services in the treatment of their patients. Ideally this physician will reside in Lake County and interact with the community.

MINIMUM education requirements

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree.

MINIMUM work experience requirements

  • Previous working experience as a physician for 5 years.
  • Adept at diagnosing problems and creating treatment plans.
  • Has basic knowledge of regulatory compliance with RHC and reimbursement related to the family health center.

License/certifications

  • Current license to practice in the State of Colorado.
  • Completion of residency in family practice or board certification by either Board of Family Practice or the Advisory Board of Osteopathic Specialties.
  • Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC certification.
  • Current DEA and DPS registration.

OTHER SKILLS

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
  • Excels in communicating sensitive and/or adverse information.
  • Sound judgement and expert decision-making ability.
  • Analytical thinker and complex problem solving skills.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office to include Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Position duties (essential functions) 

Leadership 60%

  • Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills in directing, delegating and evaluating patient care practices.
  • Applies management knowledge principles in order to comply with regulatory agencies, Federal, State and Hospital standards.
  • Promote health education in conjunction with other health professionals.
  • Takes interest and participates in the community we serve.
  • Participates in daily huddles, team meetings, training and community out-reach activities.
  • Complete tasks assigned by Clinics Director and Medical Director. 

Interpersonal Skills 30%

  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
  • Collect, record, and maintain sensitive patient information such as examination results, medical history and reports.
  • Ability to clearly explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients.
  • Liaise with medical professionals in the community and other facilities. 

Fiscal Responsibility 10%

  • Patient load of least patients per day.
  • Participate in building patient list.
