SUMMARY

  • The Planning and Zoning Commission duties include preparing and adopting the Town’s comprehensive plan for the physical development of the municipality (as applicable), including any areas outside its boundaries, subject to the approval of the governmental body. The comprehensive plan of a municipality shall be an advisory document to guide land development decisions. The planning commission reviews and provides recommendations to the Board of Trustees on matters related to variance and warrant requests, planned development, and other zoning issues and regulations. Full duties and responsibilities are specified in Parts 2 and 3 of Article 23, of Title 31, C.R.S.
  • The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of five (7) members, five (5) appointed by the Board of Trustees, and two (2) ex-officio members from the Board of Trustees.
  • Statutorily (Parts 2 and 3 of Article 23, of Title 31, C.R.S.) all commissioners are required to reside within town limits.
  • Terms are four (4) years.
  • The Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Town Hall.  

APPOINTMENT PROCESS

Interested applicants will be invited to a screening interview with the Town Administrator. Following the screening interview, qualified applicants will be invited to a joint interview with the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will consider final appointments.
