Wage: $19.68/hr.
Location: Canon City, CO.
Job Description:
Responsible for overall front office activities, including coordination of all bookkeeping functions, maintenance of the ledger and preparation of reports, performs administrative, secretarial, clerical, and public contact duties associated with the Building Department activities. Coordinates various functions within the Department. Daily and frequent interaction with the public at the front counter and via telephone communication to provide and verify information, including regulatory information not requiring interpretation. Calculates and collects application, permit fees, taxes and prepares necessary reports; deposits, reconciles and balances accounts associated with the Building Department. Performs all accounting functions to ensure revenue and expenditures is properly recorded. Provides reports to the Building Official as it relates to the department budget. Coordinates, maintains communications with and provides information to other departments such as the Office of Planning and Zoning, Department of Transportation, County Engineer, County Attorney; and outside agencies such as the Colorado Department of Health, Colorado Census Bureau, State Demography Office, Colorado Division of Regulatory Agencies and U. S. Census Bureau. Performs a variety of other duties as required by the Building Official.
High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience required in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, Explorer and Outlook.
Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License. Must be, or be able to obtain, a State of Colorado Notary Public. Building Permit Technician Certification preferred, training will be provided within twelve (12) months of hire date.
