ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for all Patient Access Representative functions, including registering patients, admitting patients, collecting copays/deductibles and completing all forms correctly at the point of registration. In addition, a Patient Access Representative II is expected to be able to provide good faith estimates for patients, obtain pre-authorizations for services, collect workman’s comp information, and screen patients for the hospital discount care/CICP/charity care programs. Includes other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED);
Previous experience preferred
Experience in Customer Service
Basic computer skills required
Complete skills competency test with minimum test score of 75%.
Previous experience in patient registration preferred
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read and understand Basic English
Ability to lift 30% of your body weight.
Continuous movement throughout the hospital
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with all persons in a professional manner in stressful situations.
Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature and to remain calm in crisis situations.
