Job Description:

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for the performance of the duties of a non-sworn enforcement officer, as designated by the command staff under the Chief of Police. This position is responsible for enforcing laws and town code/ordinances set forth by the Town of Buena Vista.

Duties include: This is a non-sworn position that involves responding to public inquiries, knowledge of the BV Municipal Code, finding and placing loose dogs, parking enforcement, VIN inspections, working parades and other community events, investigating and enforcing municipal code violations, etc.

Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Colorado Driver's license, have a strong work ethic, good communication and report writing skills, be in good physical condition, and not have any disqualifying charges on your criminal history. A pre-employment background check will be part of the hiring process.

Pay and benefits include: Beginning salary is $23.50/hr., working with a strong team at the BVPD, career building, opportunity to grow, serve your community, working out of the new PD, getting to work outdoors in and around the community, etc. Currently, this is a part-time position to help cover code issues on the weekends, with an expectation of a minimum of 30 hours per week.
