Job Type: Part time, Hourly

Wage: $18/hr. 

Location: Canon City, CO. 

Job Description

The overnight security guard is a position that will stay onsite overnight to ensure the safety of the property and the assets of the company. They will ensure no unauthorized visitors attempt to enter the property overnight, that all systems are functioning normally, and that there are no issues outside of business hours. If need be, they will alert management and/or law enforcement to any issues that may arise.

Essential Functions

· Secure premises by patrolling property.

· Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.

· Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedure.

· Accurately log inbound / outbound traffic via specific site procedures.

· Provide direction and support to associates needing assistance with security matters

· Report suspicious activities, safety hazards, unusual circumstances and/or behavior, maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, etc.

· Investigate and report maintenance and safety conditions which may endanger the company, its associates, or public safety.

· Patrol on foot to maintain visibility and observe possible unusual activities at facilities.

· Deter theft and vandalism.

· Ensure the client, its associates, and facility personnel are provided with a safe and professional work environment

· Ensure that daily administrative documentation is always kept concise and complete

· Uniform attire and grooming standards must be maintained while in uniform

· Perform other related duties as required

· Adhere to company mission statement and core values, while maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.

· Complete all duties in a timely manner consistent with company standards

Education/Minimum Requirements

· High school graduate or equivalent

· One or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills/Aptitudes

· Able to read, comprehend, and interpret simple instructions, correspondence, memos, and documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and procedures and maintenance instructions.

Able to write routine simple correspondence.

Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and Team members. 

Able to apply common sense, patience and understanding while carrying out detailed written and/or oral instructions.

Able to deal with and present problem-solving ideas that involves concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Strong guest service skills and the ability to ask questions and apply deductive reasoning and listening skills are essential.

Working Conditions/Essential Job Functions

· Must be able to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to individually move objects up to 50 lbs in all directions

· Job responsibilities will require working in a variety of weather conditions, both indoors and outside
