Wage: $16.87/hr.
Location: Canon City, CO.
Job Description
Provides assistance to the Veteran’s Office and staff, as well as other county employees in aspects of the department’s duties. Performs administrative, secretarial, clerical, bookkeeping, computer support and public contact. Answers, responds to or routes incoming calls to appropriate personnel and schedules appointments if requested information cannot be provided or interpretation of processes are required. Prepares necessary reports, reconciles and balances budgets through direction of the Director. Assists in the compilation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual department revenue reports. Assists with the compilation of receipts to accompany P-Card purchases monthly and codes all purchases. Prepares, categorizes and maintains Excel files and other computerized filing systems, enters and updates information and cross-indexes all files.
Prepares and maintains current computerized records and other associated processes applicable to each department. Processes incoming mail, distributing as needed. Prepares letters, memos, charts, reports, minutes, agendas or other types of correspondence. Interacts with other county employees, contractors or consultants to assist with providing and verifying information. Gathers information or physical evidence to resolve a problem or support findings. Assembles a variety of data from office records for incorporation into various departmental reports. Orders office supplies to maintain sufficient inventory for departmental usage and coordinates incoming and outgoing items related to orders and deliveries. Assists department management with various special projects or programs. Performs various support duties including copies, printing, updates and mails materials.
High school diploma or GED; or one (1) to two (2) years general experience or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License. DD-214 documenting Honorable Discharge from the Armed
Forces. Successfully passing a state and federal government background check.
