Job Type: Full time, Salaried

Wage: $35,496.70-$54,872/yr.

Location: Florence, CO.

Job Description:

GENERAL:                        

Under direct supervision of the City Clerk, performs a broad range of clerical and administrative tasks. Maintains filing systems, and follows established procedures regarding City Hall front-office operations. Demonstrates proficiency with standard office equipment. May involve some project work.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned by the City Clerk

·         Assists the Utility Billing Clerk with water billing through proper execution of City’s operating systems (Caselle and Sensus)

·         Providing excellent customer service by directing and/or responding to all to include internal and external departments, other state and local agencies, and the public.

·         Researches information to resolve problems, concerns, errors, and/or complaints.

·         Maintains proper Union Highland Cemetery Records

·         Meets with the public and gives accurate information regarding location of burials, and burial processes

·         Responsible for helping and giving information regarding the cemetery to staff and the public

·         Responsible for all the rules and regulations which govern the cemetery operation

·         Responsible for following up on all tasks performed by self or those delegated to others

·       Ability to enter arrest warrant information into local, state, and federal police records systems.

·       Accurately assembles, records, enters and updates summonses, outstanding judgments, and payments.

·       Maintains court files, reports, summonses, statements, and disposition information electronically in case files.

·       Performs other related duties assigned by the City Clerk

 

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE:

Possesses the basic skills and knowledge required to perform routine tasks necessary. Capable and willing to learn and dedicate time to acquiring advanced skills and gain an understanding of the total process flow.

 

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read and capably interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.

 

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to accurately and precisely calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.  To apply basic accounting standards.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

 

PERSONAL COMPETENCIES: 

Willingly shares skills and knowledge. Effectively gives and receives feedback.  Communicates effectively and professionally.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

·         Basic computer skills and Microsoft Word/Excel/ Power Point/ Google

·         Data entry

·         Mastery of City Operating systems

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSES:

·         High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Experience with working with the public

·         Colorado driver’s license

·         CPR first aid

·         Notary- Preferred
