Job Description:
The Master HVAC Installer leads complex HVAC installation projects and owns HVAC quality control for modular homes in a production environment. This role trains and mentors junior installers, ensures installations meet design specifications and code requirements, and partners with production teams to maintain schedules and build quality. The position is critical to delivering safe, energy-efficient HVAC systems through rigorous workmanship, inspection readiness, and process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead complex HVAC installations, including advanced ductwork, units, and control systems, for modular homes.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure systems meet design specifications, energy efficiency standards, and code requirements.
- Train and mentor Entry- and Mid-Level HVAC Installers on techniques, safety practices, and code compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced HVAC issues to ensure reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HVAC codes (e.g., IMC), safety standards, and industry regulations, including supporting/overseeing inspections as needed.
- Read and interpret advanced blueprints and schematics to guide HVAC planning and execution.
- Collaborate with production teams to align HVAC work with project goals, sequencing, and schedules.
- Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years of HVAC installation experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role (manufacturing or construction preferred).
- 8,000 hours of documented practical experience per DORA requirements (as provided).
- EPA Section 608 certification required.
- HVAC Master license or equivalent required.
- Expert proficiency installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting complex HVAC systems.
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC codes (e.g., IMC), safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced training or degree in HVAC or related fields.
- OSHA safety training.
- Additional certifications (e.g., NATE).
Work Environment / Schedule
- Onsite at the Florence, Colorado production facility.
- Leadership-focused environment requiring adherence to safety standards and PPE (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hard hats).
- Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (40 hours total).
