Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $22/hr. 

Location: Buena Vista, CO.

Job Description:

The Best Western Vista Inn is looking to hire a motivated, self-starting individual that is familiar with and is comfortable with housekeeping, painting, plumbing, dry-wall repair, pool and spa chemicals and minor carpentry. This person must be a team player, reliable and must be open to learning the hotel industry and it's requirements. This is a year-round opportunity.

Job Duties:

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks in guest rooms and common areas to ensure they are in optimal condition.
  • Conduct daily pool maintenance, including opening, chemical readings, and servicing as necessary to maintain water quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by performing landscaping tasks such as weed removal, sweeping, watering plants, and ensuring a neat and welcoming appearance.
  • Manage trash services to ensure timely removal and proper disposal of waste.
  • Perform snow removal duties during the winter season, including shoveling and plowing to maintain safe access to the property.
  • Address small plumbing issues such as stopped-up drains and minor electrical repairs like changing out light fixtures.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and other staff members to complete tasks efficiently and provide support as needed.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance tasks and identify areas for improvement or repair.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance equipment and storage areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in maintenance or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a hotel environment preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate clearly with guests, management staff, and other employees in a professional manner.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push and/pr pull heavy equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be punctual and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Proven experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Proficiency in small plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
