ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible planning, scheduling, coordination and supervision of shop mechanical employee activities to ensure that all equipment maintenance and repairs are done properly and on time.

WHAT YOU'll BE DOING

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • The incumbent is responsible for supervision, safety and training of their direct reports.
  • The incumbent is to design and implement required skills enhancement training for each subordinate through both internal and external training programs.
  • The incumbent is to abide by the union contract and is responsible for first level grievances.
  • The incumbent is to actively promote safe working behaviors.
  • The incumbent will ensure motivation of his group through proper delegation, participation, recognition, and follow up on suggestions and ideas.
  • The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in the most effective, efficient and timely manner possible
  • The incumbent will give constructive feedback and coaching as required to maintain a high degree of professionalism within the group.
  • The incumbent must be able to use and understand the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) and have knowledge of the work order tracking system, spare parts catalogue and requisitioning and inventory systems.
  • The incumbent is required to be knowledgeable the mining process, mining mobile equipment, and mine crushing and hoisting systems as well as thorough understanding of the plant coding structure, plant budget, and company policy on capitalization in order to process error free transactions with proper cost allocation.
  • Work closely with all other disciplines within the plant and quarry.
  • Responsible for all surface plant and quarry mobile equipment maintenance including preventative, predictive, proactive and routine maintenance.
  • Supervise the daily activities of three (3) hourly Mobile Maintenance Technicians (MMT).
  • Drive workforce performance
  • Planning and Scheduling of all work involving direct report MMT and contractors.
  • Maintain an accurate Work Order History.
  • Maintain the Mobile Equipment PM system in SAP.
  • Initiate PM01 Work Orders.
  • Update Job Plans as required.
  • Manage work performance and attendance issues with direct report employees.
  • Be knowledgeable of and work within the Maintenance budget and assist Quarry Manager in forecasting actual spending.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree or 2 years of equivalent experience.

Required Computer and Software Skills: SAP experience a plus

Travel Requirements: 1-2 times annually as required for training

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
