Wage: $99,000-$121,000/yr. 

Location: Leadville, CO.

Job Description:

The Maintenance Supervisor will be a key role supervising the overall day to day, performance, coordination, management, and maintenance of the specified mining crew to assist in obtaining safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the performance and maintenance activities of the crew so as to maximize equipment fleet availability
  • Direct and maintain a professional relationship with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ensure maintenance team and yourself carry out all site duties with due care and attention
  • Provide clear performance expectations to personnel and reinforce correct behavior through recognition and encouragement

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years in on-site mining heavy equipment mechanics experience
  • 2-3 years supervising maintenance crews for mobile surface mining equipment
  • Post-high school technical training or certification in diesel mechanics, welding, mine maintenance, or other similar training

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in diesel mechanics, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Maintenance experience with heavy equipment brands Hitachi, Komatsu, Caterpillar, and LiebherrJ

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to live and work at high altitudes (12,000 ft. elevation) for a week at a time
  • Able to work in extreme winter conditions with temperatures regularly below zero degrees Fahrenheit
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time, walk long distances, and climb ladders
  • Able to work for extended 12-hour shifts
  • Can work night shifts (5:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.) seven days at a time and properly manage fatigue
  • No auditory or visual impairments restricting the ability to see distances while driving and clearly discern auditory and visual alerts/alarms (not including color blindness)
  • Quick response/reaction times
  • Arm-hand steadiness and manual dexterity

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • All necessary tools will be provided
  • Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, rotating 12-hour shifts both days and nights
  • Fly-in, fly-out opportunities for those who live out-of-state (travel expenses paid), drive-in, drive-out opportunities for those who live in-state (mileage reimbursed)
  • Working at high elevation with cold, snowy conditions during winter months
  • Hotel and shuttle accommodations provided, as well as per diem
