Job Type: Part time, Hourly

Wage: $21.06/hr. 

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description

Perform general maintenance activities throughout all Starpoint's facilities to aid in creating a safe and comfortable environment for those we serve and staff. Responsible for all building service systems, and preventive maintenance. Obtain quotes from certified/licensed vendors for major repair issues such as roofing, or HVAC systems. Act as project manager for all major facility improvements, and additions.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs corrective and preventative work on buildings and grounds.
  • Uses a work order system to track and maintain building work requests.
  • Performs simple plumbing, carpentry, grounds maintenance, and electrical tasks.
  • Moves equipment, furniture, and facilities supplies in-between properties.
  • Maintains and operates the fire suppression and detection systems.
  • Coordinate with the facility Director around maintenance and repair issues that are required.
  • First responder for site/security issues.
  • Complete work orders in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Inform the supervisor of any extenuating circumstances that may arise on the job site.
  • Keep accurate records of receipts, time, and mileage on work orders and logs.
  • Keep maintenance shop and tools in good repair and in an orderly manner.
  • Be accountable for an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies that Starpoint supplies.
  • Be knowledgeable about the regulations that Starpoint needs to be in compliance with, i.e., ADA, Department of Health, Department of Human Services, etc.
  • Ensure that Starpoint facilities remain in compliance with any regulations that apply to the specific facility.
  • Be knowledgeable and schedule appropriate annual inspections at each facility, i.e., Fire authority inspections, Security and Fire alarm inspections, etc.
  • Perform other jobs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. preferred
  • Vocational School is a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience related to facility maintenance
  • Basic carpentry skills are a plus
  • Facilities maintenance is a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Read and interpret blueprint/drawings
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and woodworking tools
  • General knowledge of various building, and mechanical systems to do necessary repairs to heating/cooling, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and be approved by the agency insurance company.
  • Must carry agency on-call phone for emergency maintenance occurrences.
