Job Description

Job Summary: The Loan Servicing Clerk is responsible for servicing all loans post-closing to include consumer, mortgage, and commercial. They will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the construction loan portfolio and will be responsible for managing mortgage loans sold through the secondary market.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understands and supports the High Country Bank Mission Statement and commits to adhere to High Country Bank’s Values of Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Together.
  • Responsible for processing loan payments received for all loans, including setting up automatic payments.
  • Responsible for maintenance on all existing loan accounts, such as but not limited to: address changes, payment errors, and ARM maintenance.
  • Responsible for all line of credit transactions, such as but not limited to: monitoring HELOC end of draw periods, pay to zero requests, and processing line of credit advances.
  • Pay and record all disbursements of funds from impound accounts, such as but not limited to: taxes, insurance, flood, PMI, and USDA payments.
  • Ensure each required loan has a proper insurance policy in place by working directly with our third-party servicer.
  • Manages returned loan department mail.
  • Monitors tax payments and status for all applicable loans by working directly with our third-party servicer.
  • Responsible for completing an escrow analysis each year for our active portfolio loans.
  • Responsible for issuing loan payoff quotes and performing the maintenance of releasing collateral on all paid off loans.
  • Monitors and takes action on any disputes received, corrections needed, and overall reporting requirements to the credit bureaus.
  • Responsible for taking action on error resolution requests received for all loans.
  • Prepares and sends borrower(s) all foreclosure notices according to department policies and procedures.
  • Generates and monitors various servicing related loan reports.
  • Pulls and sends the required event letters for all loans.
  • Responsible for answering phone calls related to our loan portfolio and loans sold on the secondary market.
  • Responsible for secondary market loan servicing to include, but not be limited to: monitoring interest rate lock dates, selling mortgage loans on the secondary market, completing all secondary market and internal post-closing maintenance once a loan has been sold on the secondary market, and transferring loans through the MERS system.
  • Responsible for construction portfolio maintenance and monitoring to include, but not be limited to: reconciling and approving all construction draws, processing all construction draws, and monthly construction loan inspections.
  • Maintains effective relationships with all departments within High Country Bank.
  • Supports the Bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
  • Display and adhere to bank protocols regarding the bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations in relation to specific job duties, including but not limited to the Red Flag Identity Theft Prevention program, OFAC, and Reporting Suspicious Activity.

  • General Computer Knowledge
  • Advanced Math Skills
  • Basic understanding of financial institution’s products and services
  • Basic knowledge of Core software, FPS’s CIM Gold

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Some loan or Bank experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
