Job Description

The Line Cook for Fremont Provisions will join a team of dreamers and doers committed to rural renewal through business and economic development. This skilled person will work with kitchen leadership as part of a larger food preparation and delivery team. Responsible for all kitchen functions including food preparation and maintenance of quality standards; and sanitation and cleanliness. The line cook works in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment helping to prepare delicious, high-quality meals.

Housed in a historic storefront built in 1903, Fremont Provisions is Cañon City’s premiere locally-sourced scratch kitchen eatery, known for the intentionally selected products and unique menu options. Successful candidates will have the following:

• Dependability– the line cook is expected to be reliable, on time for work, and consistent with the work they do
• Physical stamina – the line cook works on their feet for the duration of their shifts, around scheduled breaks, in kitchens that may be warm.
• Facility with kitchen equipment– the line cook works with sharp and potentially dangerous equipment on a daily basis—whether the deli slicer, oven, or high-temperature dishwasher, they work safely and effectively with all kitchen equipment.
• Team player – the line cook takes direction from restaurant leadership and is willing to assist other team members to get their jobs done.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand on on your feet for at least 8 hours
• Must possess a valid driver’s license. 

• Must be eligible to work in the United States. 

• Must agree to background check.

What you would be doing at Fremont Provisions:

• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
• Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
• Ensure proper rotation of ALL food items.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas.
• Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
• Set a positive example by always embody the Unbridled brand and culture, including: character, change, credibility, and community.
