Job Type: Full time, Salaried

Wage: $37,699-$55,407/yr. 

Location: Florence, CO.

Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Colorado Teaching License
  • Highly qualified to teach Band
  • Teaching experience in instrumental band preferred
  • Ability to relate to secondary school students
  • Strong student management skills
  • Must be able to care for expensive equipment
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written methods
  • Maintain positive working relationship with students, staff, administrators, and parents
  • Successful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings and fingerprinting required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong Musical Pedagogy with a clear plan to develop junior high musicians
  • JH Oriented (willing to meet students where they are, work with that age group and develop a positive band culture with younger members of the program)
  • Willingness to learn
  • 2-5 years of teaching experience (preferably at junior high level)
  • Organized flexible
  • Team Player
  • Strong communicator
  • Preferably experience in woodwinds

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • 161-day teacher contract at 8.5 hours per day / 4-day school week
  • Complete all grading and student records as required by the school
  • Provide proper supervision as required by the school

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Salary according to the master agreement.
  • Extra duties compensated according to the Extra Performance Salary Schedule, Appendix B
  • Up to fifteen (15) years of outside experience can be credited.
  • Health Insurance according to the Master Agreement
  • PERA, Life Insurance, and Medicare.
  • Leave days according to Master Agreement.
