Length of Assignment: 210 Days; follows general LCSD Calendar

Salary: Commensurate with related experience and education: $55,000-$70,000 plus excellent benefits! (Health, Dental, Vision, Life and 12 days PTO!)

Start Date: As soon as possible to train; Jul 1, 2023 start date

Primary purpose:

IT Manager is responsible and accountable for the functionality, support and optimization of specific technology systems, programs or processes within the district. The IT Manager will apply subject matter expertise to execute, maintain and manage the implementation and maintenance of our district’s technology related needs to ensure continuity of business and services. The IT Manager will ensure provision of end-user support and administration, configuration, and maintenance of servers and operating systems to ensure compliance with district policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have the necessary skills, professional experience, and detailed knowledge of best practice processes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

○ Oversight and provision of the management of the district voice and data network. This includes monitoring, training, troubleshooting, security, coordination and communication of installation and changes.

○ Provides technical and/or administrative support within a specific area, including: develops and maintains documentation, manages processes, and coordinates activities, audits work, and analyzes reports.

○ Ensures ongoing effort to improve effectiveness, including: researches and evaluates pending developments, identifies areas of concern, recommends solutions, and implements upgrades and enhancements.

○ Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies advanced understanding to resolve problems of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic improvement.

○ Communicates and collaborates with other teams, vendors, employees and stakeholders to positively implement change.

○ Resolves trouble tickets in a timely manner and communicates throughout the process.

○ Complete all installations within set time lines.

○ Manage IT staff by training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance

○ Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness

○ Monitors network performance to ensure efficient use and prevent misuse.

○ Administer and manage devices through required platforms such as the iOS MDM system.

Requirements

○ BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field, or relevant IT certifications/experience

○ Three or more years of technology repair service experience.

○ Proven experience as an IT manager and support specialist, or relevant leadership experience

○ Effective time management and organizational skills.

○ Excellent knowledge and technical expertise in voice and data networking (vLANS, routing, configuration/deployment)

○ Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation, specifically Windows networking (group policy management, domain administration), Windows OS (Server 2012/2016, Win 10 Ent), Google (GSuite administration, cloud services, etc) and iOS administration

○ Effective communication skills

○ Preference may be given to a candidate with experience in the following areas:

  • 1) Cyber security
  • 2) Database Management – PowerSchool
  • 3) Firewall Policy – Fortigate
  • 4) Active Directory – Microsoft Azure
  • 5) Veeam Backup
  • 6) Fortinet Products

Physical Demands

Physical demands for this job are representative of those required to be met by an employee. While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to climb ladders, sit or stand for extended periods of time, work with close visual acuity and delicate finger work. Electrical cords and computer equipment are in the daily work environment. Lifting, carrying, and reaching items up to 50 pounds may occur. This position may require flexible shifts to accommodate updates and work during non-school hours or school breaks.
