HRRMC's Information Systems department has a full-time (40 hrs/wk) opening as an IS Systems Support Specialist. Scope of role :

This position is primarily responsible for resolving escalated tickets, and managing hardware inventory. The Systems Support Technician also works independently or as part of a team to complete HRRMC projects including hardware and software configuration and deployment as well as assisting with workflow design. The position assists IS manager with purchasing workflow. Work is performed with little supervision and requires drive, initiative and judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Inventory: Primarily responsible for maintaining accurate and adequate inventory of PCs, peripherals and IS supplies.

2. Purchasing: Responsible for assisting department manager in quote acquisition, obtaining purchase orders, ordering, receiving and documenting the purchase of PCs, peripherals and IS supplies.

3. Ticket Queue: Responsible for assisting Desktop Support Technicians in response, evaluation, prioritization, documentation, resolution or escalation of user reported issues. Escalated tickets often flow to this position.

4. Projects: Responsible for the configuration and deployment of hardware and software as well as assisting with workflow design as steps toward completing assigned projects.

5. Networking: Responsible for proper configuration of switch ports for secure deployment of endpoints as required for HRRMC projects.

6. Servers: Responsible for building and configuring servers as required for HRRMC projects

7. Troubleshooting: Determine source and nature of hardware/software issues house wide.

8. Customer Service: Maintains positive, professional and constructive attitude when interacting with our customers.

9. Access, Change and Termination Requests: responsible for assisting Application Support Specialist with new user setup ensuring our users can access what they need for their role and only what they need for their role as well as revoking this access when employment ends. This includes:

  • a. Active Directory accounts
  • b. Email accounts
  • c. Distribution security groups
  • d. EHR accounts security
  • e. Remote access
  • f. Any other software requirements.

10. Training: responsible for training and orienting staff on use of hardware and software

11. On Call: being prepared to work outside of hours when required and to provide outside of hours on call to support the 24x7 nature of the hospital per the rotation schedule.

12. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Three to five years of IS systems support experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required.
