Job Description:

Trinidad State College seeks an Innovative Learning Center Coordinator as part of the Title V grant.  This position will be responsible for the oversight of the Innovative Learning Center. This is a full-time, twelve-month, grant-funded position which reports directly to the Director of Enrollment Management and Student Success and Vice President of Student Affairs. 

Examples of Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Innovative Learning Center Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Enrollment Management and Student Success, Dean of Instruction, and the Title V Director to oversee development and implementation of the ILC and serve as a facilitator for faculty, staff and students regarding resource options.  
    1. Work closely with other Title V staff and other faculty to identify, meet and document grant objectives and development of learning management education.  
    2. Responsible for training and supporting faculty, staff and students
    3. Maintain educational resources of all types including tutoring and make these resources available, accessible and usable to faculty, staff and students
    4. Provide a safe and supportive atmosphere that is student-centered and grounded in customer service
    5. Provide direct academic support to students as needed
    6. Assist students, faculty and staff with use of BANNER, Portal, Navigate and DegreeWorks and other tools
    7. Report and monitor student data and use of classroom technologies. Report data outcomes to Title V Director on monthly basis
    8. Maintain time and effort reports that reflect duties.
    9. Assist with the monitoring of classroom and distance education technologies for TSC Valley Campus
    10. Develop and perform training to faculty and staff with development of online courseware, creating video/audio presentations in classrooms as well as online courses
    11. Assist faculty with development of online courses and remote learning
    12. Plans, coordinates and conducts special topics workshops in the use of technologies in instruction for faculty and staff.
    13. Training faculty on usage and abilities of technology enabled classrooms
    14. Identifying and recommending equipment and software purchases
    15. Research new technologies to enhance the institution’s learning capabilities in the classroom and increase the student base for distance education
    16. Provide education to faculty and review courses that incorporate Quality Matters 
  • Willingness to travel between both campuses and be available during the evening courses to help with classroom management. 
  • Available after hours and on weekends for phone calls and emails that might come up about Desire2Learn.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of Desire2Learn and the ability to teach and walk others through problems both in person and over the phone.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Classroom Education Technologies
  • Two (2) years of experience in Distance Education Course Delivery and Design
  • Experience within institution of higher education
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 applications, BANNER, Portal, Navigate, Degree works, Quality Matters etc.  
  • Focused, creative, detail-oriented team player
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Must be able to develop deadlines and schedules
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism 
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with usage and statistics reporting
  • Knowledge of WebEx, Zoom, Yuja, and other video conferencing applications.
  • Considerable knowledge of higher education process, policies and procedures
  • Ability to travel between both campuses
