Position Type: Part-time, hourly position, 195 days per year Some Summer work and then follow the school calendar

Location: Canon City High School

Salary: Pay for this position is and hourly rate of $30.00 per hour. Grant Funded

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher preferred.
  • Such qualifications as the Superintendent may require.
  • Must hold a valid Colorado Teaching License properly endorsed for the proposed assignment. If a vocational teacher, must hold valid Colorado Vocational Credential appropriately endorsed for the proposed assignment.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, speak and listen to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Integrity, trust and work ethic to be able to work with little supervision.
  • Competent understanding of technology to perform the job.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to perform light lifting and moving of product (up to 50lbs).
  • Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of district data.
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties of the Job: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.)

  • Manage up to four interns in the production of student-designed products in the innovation lab.
  • Learn to operate/minimally maintain all machinery in the innovation lab.
  • Create and implement after school programs for students in grades 6-12.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility. A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:

  • Quality Standard I: Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach.
  • Quality Standard II: Teachers establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
  • Quality Standard III: Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning for their students
  • Quality Standard IV: Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
