Wage: $24.79/hr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description

Performs maintenance, operation and planning of a multi-department agency’s technical systems including telecommunication systems, security systems and access authorizations, virtual environment software, computer technology, data storage and backup and recovery. Provides end user assistance and troubleshooting support for all hardware and software. Serves as Webmaster for Fremont County websites. Installs, maintains and monitors the telecommunication systems including telephone systems (digital, VOIP and cellular), local and wide area networks, WiFi systems, and internet. Monitors servers, web performance, network availability and security. Proactively assesses potential security and operational risks from design to deployment and assists with identifying and remediating vulnerabilities. Installs, maintains and monitors security systems and access controls. Performs equipment set up for employee use, ensures proper installation of cables, operating systems and appropriate software. Keeps inventory records current and correct. Provides technical support to end users. Provides user training for new or upgrade installations. Documents help desk procedures and problem resolutions to appropriate Information Technology Procedure Guides. Installation and termination of cabling. Installs and monitors servers, new software and hosted systems. Assists with resolution of complex problems upon notification or problem recognition to avoid costly downtime and delays.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field from an accredited technical school, college or university or the equivalent in technical training, preferred. A minimum of one year of hands‐on experience in computer help-desk operations or network administration in a business/government computer network environment including desktop computers and legacy systems or equivalent combination of education and experience. Equivalency is based on two years of high-level experience equaling one year of college level credit. Technology certifications in areas such as systems hardware, software, internet/intranet development, network development or management and security will be taken into consideration as well.

Additional Requirements/Information:

Computer industry technical certifications (A+, Network +, MCSE, etc.) are very desirable. Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License.
