Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Service HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for residential and/or commercial clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and refrigeration units.
- Perform routine maintenance and seasonal tune-ups on HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical components of systems using technical tools and equipment.
- Provide professional, courteous, and timely service to clients while explaining technical issues and solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Keep service vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked with tools and parts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC service or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and electrical components.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or extreme temperatures.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with commercial systems and rooftop units
- Knowledge of smart thermostats and modern control systems
