Job Summary: The HVAC Installer – Entry Level (Apprentice) is an introductory role designed for individuals eager to begin a career in HVAC. This position focuses on assisting with the installation of HVAC systems in modular homes at Mytikas Steel’s production facility. No prior HVAC experience or certifications are required; however, candidates should have experience in commercial construction, general labor, or a related field. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, teamwork, and developing foundational HVAC skills under the guidance of experienced installers. Our goal following completion of the apprenticeship is that this individual will be promoted to crew lead.

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist in the installation of HVAC systems, including ductwork, units, and basic control systems, for modular homes.

● Support senior installers in setting up and assembling HVAC components according to instructions.

● Learn and apply basic HVAC techniques, safety protocols, and industry standards under supervision.

● Perform general labor tasks, such as material handling, site preparation, and cleanup, to support HVAC installation projects.

● Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to assist with installations.

● Follow blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions to ensure accurate installation support.

● Adhere to safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hard hats.

● Collaborate with production teams to meet project schedules and maintain a clean, organized work environment. 

Qualifications:

● Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

● Experience: 1+ years of experience in commercial construction, general labor, or related fields; no HVAC-specific experience required.

● Technical Skills:

○ Basic familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in construction or labor roles.

○ Willingness to learn HVAC installation techniques and processes on the job.

○ Ability to follow instructions and work with basic blueprints or diagrams (training provided).

● Soft Skills:

○ Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.

○ Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.

○ Ability to take direction and adapt to a fast-paced production environment.

○ Leadership potential.

● Certifications: No certifications required; EPA Section 608 certification or OSHA safety training is a plus, but not necessary.

Work Environment:

● On-site at Mytikas Steel’s production facility in Florence, Colorado.

● Fast-paced, hands-on environment with opportunities for skill development and career growth.

● Schedule: Full-Time, with significant overtime opportunities.

Job Summary: The HVAC Installer – Senior Level (Master) is an expert professional responsible for leading complex HVAC installation projects and ensuring quality control for modular homes at Mytikas Steel’s production facility. This role involves training and mentoring junior installers, overseeing installations, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The Master Installer operates with limited supervision and plays a key leadership role in the HVAC team.

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead complex HVAC installations, including advanced ductwork, units, and control systems, for modular homes.

● Conduct quality control checks to ensure systems meet design specifications, energy efficiency standards, and code requirements.

● Train and mentor Entry- and Mid-Level HVAC Installers, providing guidance on techniques, safety, and code compliance.

● Troubleshoot and resolve advanced HVAC issues, ensuring system reliability and efficiency.

● Ensure compliance with HVAC codes (e.g., IMC), safety standards, and industry regulations, including overseeing inspections.

● Read and interpret advanced blueprints and schematics to guide HVAC projects.

● Collaborate with production teams to align installations with project goals and schedules.

● Lead process improvements to enhance HVAC system efficiency, safety, and quality.

Qualifications:

● Education: High school diploma or equivalent; advanced training or degree in HVAC or related fields preferred.

● Experience: 7+ years of HVAC installation experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing or construction, and 8,000 hours of documented practical experience per DORA requirements.

● Technical Skills:

○ Expert proficiency in installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting complex HVAC systems.

○ Advanced knowledge of HVAC codes (e.g., IMC), safety regulations, and industry standards.

○ Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and schematics.

● Soft Skills:

○ Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities.

○ Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

○ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

● Certifications: EPA Section 608 certification and HVAC Master license or equivalent required; OSHA safety training or additional certifications (e.g., NATE) are a plus.

Work Environment:

● On-site at Mytikas Steel’s production facility in Florence, Colorado.

● Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (40 hours total).
