Wage: $40,000-$90,000/yr.
Location: Canon City, CO.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC and Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the cost and time required for HVAC and plumbing projects, ensuring that our clients receive accurate bids and project timelines. This role is key in providing detailed, competitive, and realistic estimates, contributing to the successful delivery of residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Estimation:
- Prepare accurate HVAC and plumbing estimates for new installations, system replacements, and repairs based on project specifications, blueprints, and site visits.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to create comprehensive cost estimates.
- Estimate labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Provide detailed breakdowns of materials and labor costs to ensure transparency and accuracy.
- Client and Vendor Communication:
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure all materials and services meet project requirements.
- Source quotes from vendors and suppliers for required materials and equipment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
- Cost Analysis and Negotiation:
- Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of various HVAC and plumbing systems and recommend the best solutions based on client needs and budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Review final estimates with clients, making necessary adjustments based on feedback and project specifications.
- Project Support:
- Assist project managers with change orders, revisions, and scope changes during the course of a project.
- Provide support during project bidding processes and participate in pre-bid meetings as necessary.
- Ensure timely delivery of estimates and project documentation to keep projects on schedule.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, proposals, and bid documents for future reference.
- Ensure all estimates and proposals comply with company standards and industry regulations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Stay current with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations for HVAC and plumbing installations.
- Ensure all projects are estimated and executed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in mechanical or plumbing engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and associated materials and equipment.
- Required Skills:
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.).
- WrightSoft HVAC Software
- Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills and follow up.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Nice to Have:
- AutoCAD experience
- Microsoft Access
- Accounting basics
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and on job sites, which may require bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.
