ABOUT THE ROLE
This position directly reports to the plant supervisor. All duties are performed in a work-safemanner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. Primary responsibilities include assisting in Maintenance and operations functions.

 

Contract position length: 3 Months +

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION
  • Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
  • Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety policies to assure that environmental, health and safety are the first priority
  • Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist as needed to improve EHS
  • Communicates effectively and timely with staff
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, tidy and organized at all times
  • Trains and coaches other employees when needed
  • Performs other duties as time permits or as assigned
  • Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - unwarranted deviations fromestablished standards, and violations of policy or law
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter, yet able to participate within a teamenvironment
  • Ability to operate equipment effectively
  • Must understand equipment maintenance

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous welding, cutting experience required
  • Must have 5-10 years previous mechanical maintenance experience in mine setting
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required
  • Haul trucks, loaders, and various mine equipment experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in powered transmissions and all other crusher and wash plant maintenance.
  • Strong Arc (stick) welding skills are a must with the ability to perform welds on various metals in different positions or locations.
  • Must be able to inspect equipment and diagnose problem with plan to repair and schedule through managements approval
  • Must be a critical thinker and be able to make good decisions under pressure
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safetyand environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcimapproved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
