Wage: $14.50-$16/hr.

Location: Westcliffe, CO.

Job Description:

This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Housekeeping Supervisor supports the overall cleanliness, ambiance, and beauty of the campsite.  This position is responsible for overseeing hourly housekeeping staff and their daily housekeeping duties. This position is also responsible for checking and documenting staff performance, assisting in training, overseeing lodging preparations, managing laundry and linen services, and managing carpet and floor care.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direction and supervision of housekeeping staff, including preparation of work schedules. 
  • Assist in development and communication of work goals and objectives; monitor, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback and direction to housekeeping staff; participate in annual performance and ongoing evaluation. 
  • Oversee and direct staff performance daily, using departmental standards for quality and quantity of work so that guest satisfaction scores remain satisfactory or above. 
  • Oversee cleanliness of carpet and floors in all buildings and train more experienced Housekeeping staff on floor care and maintenance. 
  • Oversee cleanliness of lodging, including the linens used, train more experienced housekeeping staff on care of lodges and laundry/storage of linens. 
  • Serve as a back-up for housekeeping staff as needed. 
  • Participate in development and execution of Sky Ranch’s strategic objectives as a member of the housekeeping leadership team.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain and manage the correct levels of cleaning supplies and paper goods. 
  • Perform other duties as required.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma required. 

EXPERIENCE 
  • Two years of housekeeping experience preferred. 
  • Some supervisory experience preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE 
  • Knowledge of the field of hospitality cleaning and management. 
  • Basic working knowledge and ability to use various office software including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to effectively manage staff in areas such as: selection, development, coaching, motivation, scheduling, and performance evaluation. 
  • Effective leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills, encouraging, and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. 
  • Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited co-workers and peers. 
  • Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning for the department as required. 
  • Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative. 
  • Ability to speak, read, and write proficiently in English. Ability to speak clearly in face-to-face interactions; to articulate with accuracy on the telephone and through e-mail.  Excellent listening skills. 
  • Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions. 
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks. 
  • Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers. 

 EXTERNAL CONTACTS 
  • Vendor’s and contractors.

IMPACT ON EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY 
  • Industrial/hospitality cleaning supplies and cleanliness of properties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Some physical effort required. Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force routinely, and/or up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. 
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination. 
  • Requires much physical agility, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  
  • Works indoors majority of the time. Occasionally works outdoors when cleaning windows or areas outside of cabins and buildings including assistance in snow removal from guest areas.

Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association.

Compensation: $14.50 - $16.00 per hour
