Hildebrand Care Center is welcoming applications for a full time position in Housekeeping. Weekend pay differentials offered. Come join a 5 star facility in a friendly environment.

BASIC FUNCTION:

To be able to keep a clean and safe environment for residents and staff on daily basis. To have the ability to organize, good working skills and have an eye for detail. Able to make some decisions on own if the need may call for such decision. To be honest and reliable. This position is classified as hourly and non-exempt.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Housekeeping experience preferred, but on the job training is provided.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pound buckets from cart to sink a minimum of 15 times a day.
  • Must be able to lift bags of trash or soiled linen, weighing 20-30 pounds, a minimum of times a day.
  • Must be able to push carts weighing up to 40 pounds down hallways.
  • Must be able to bend at the knees, waist and neck at least 50 times a day to allow mopping in resident areas.
  • Must be able to move furniture such as beds, dressers, etc. from one room to another as needed.
  • Must be able to handle and mix chemicals safely and properly.
  • Exposure to sharp objects and hazardous materials.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Housekeeping Laundry Supervisor and to the administrator.

AUTHORITY:

  • Has the authority to access residents’ rooms to provide housekeeping services.
  • Has the authority to perform the duties of the housekeeper.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible to carry out the duties of the housekeeper.
  • Responsible to maintain adequate housekeeping supplies and report needs to the supervisor.
  • Responsible for the care and stewardship of all company assets.
  • Responsible for the promotion of an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the department as well as other departments.
  • Responsible to attend all mandatory meetings and in-services.
  • Responsible for the working condition of environmental equipment.
  • Responsible to maintain safety for staff and residents.
  • Responsible to report any problems, incidents, or exposure to the supervisor immediately.
  • Responsible to report physical abuse, sexual abuse, caretaker neglect and exploitation of an at risk elder to law enforcement.
  • Responsible to comply with Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control Policy and must follow the required procedure for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects materials and the clean-up of blood.
  • Responsible to work with various cleaning chemicals and solutions and comply with EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Responsible to follow all rules and regulations of the facility.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of all resident information and for reporting all suspected violations of the HIPAA Privacy or Security policy to the Privacy Officer

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

The safety and cleanliness of the resident rooms and entire facility in general. These duties are not all inclusive and are subject to change at administration’s discretion. Models and promotes person centered care, and actively participates in neighborhood meetings and activities. Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Laundry Supervisor and/or the Administrator.

MEASUREMENT OF PERFORMANCE:

All assigned tasks of the Housekeeping department are being handled in a consistently efficient and effective manner.

Supervisor and peer feedback indicate that the Housekeeper is performing in a professional, fair, and consistent manner.

  • 8 hour shift
