Job Description

Royal Gorge Cabins at Echo Canyon River Expeditions is accepting applications for a Hospitality Supervisor position. This is a full time, year round, salaried position starting at $44,000 to $48,000 per year based on experience. Applicants should have experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, they should be comfortable and confident working in a team environment, and have excellent computer and communication skills. Punctuality and reliability are a must. Applicants who are not local to the area must be willing to relocate for this in-person position. Housing options available. Responsibilities include

  • Providing outstanding guest service to lodging and rafting guests from the first interaction through the entire guest experience, including the ability to share information and confidently answer questions from staff, guests, and managers
  • Being reliable, punctual, and available to work daily schedules that will change with the seasons. This includes providing coverage for weekends and holiday weeks
  • Being the 1st point of contact for the after-hours phone, available to answer those calls, and available for in-person contact as needed following those after-hours calls
  • General Property Management – performing routine diligent checks for cleanliness and maintenance on all properties. This includes checking water and propane levels weekly and scheduling and following up on these items.
  • Gaining knowledge of how we operate and applying it to new / different situations
  • Ability to follow and implement protocol/procedure and uphold standards of RGC Screening, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of housekeeping staff
  • Updating personnel files, supervising, and scheduling housekeeping staff
  • Developing a basic level of understanding of all technology on-site, and communicating with vendor support as needed to troubleshoot and solve issues that may arise. This includes being comfortable performing transactions with Point of Sale, credit card, and cash.
  • Manage Online Travel Agents (OTAs) – maintain accurate pricing and availability online, reconcile transactions monthly
  • Maintain inventory of lodging department needs
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of hospitality experience
  • Strong background in lodging industry
  • Prior management or supervisory work experience
  • Elevated communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to do the following:
    • Operate a computer with intermediate to advanced proficiency
    • Read, speak, and understand English

Preferred:

  • College degree in hospitality management or related field
  • 4+ years of hospitality leadership or related experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with large groups / event preparation and management

Physical Requirements to Perform Job Duties

  • Ability to stand and walk on paved, unpaved, uneven, and sometimes slippery surfaces for extended periods of time
  • Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, and squat, repetitively
  • Extensive use of fingers and hands to type and perform computer work, housekeeping tasks and other general office tasks
  • Ability to remain seated in an office environment for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily Able to visually inspect lodging units, equipment, and staff for compliance
  • The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions: Adverse conditions may include extreme heat and/or cold, wind, and sometimes inclement weather.
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle as required in various weather conditions
